Switch several terms from uncommon translations back to english vocabulary, most prominently commit (noun, verb) and repository. Adapt glossary accordingly.

Is this the right place for these contributions?

I see the German translations hasn't been edited for a long time. However, in German magazines it is regularly noted for its uncommon choice of translated vocabulary. So it is probably better to abandon the translated terms and rather stick to the common English vocabulary in version control.

If this work is considered useful, I could add more adaptation to the German vocabulary in git-core to improve the consistency here. This would be contributed in the upcoming weeks. Thanks!

ok, sorry, by now I've read that this is not the suitable place for pull requests. I've transferred the contribution over to there: gitgitgadget/git#525
