Photos aren't not scanned with cronjob

Hi,

My problem is that my photos aren't automatically scanned with the system cronjob as it should be (I guess)

I've to run manually the OCC command each time I want to scan photos.

Info :
-Running Nextcloud 17.02 on NGINX, self-hosted and self signed with letsencrypt

I don't have any experience on how cronjob should works.

Just the initial scan should be done by a cronjob, after this the picture should be scanned on an upload/change event.

Unfortunately they're not scanned, I just checked if my photo from last week were on the map and they're not.

My data is on an external storage, maybe it has something to deal with this ?

An hard-drive in the server, I have all my auto-uploads on it

edit : So yeah, if there's issue with external storage it's definitely my case. I will look forward to another solution to add storage to nextcloud without using External Storage app. But my hard drive isnt in S3 but in ext4)

Hi,

I´ve the same Problem like uSyzex, my pictures are also at an external storage with ext4.

I looked a little bit in the source code and I think the problem is in „maps\lib\Hooks\FileHooks.php“ the function „isUserNode()“.
For tests I change that the method, ever true returned and new pictures are deteced / showen in the map; but this is not a solution I think then it trys to gerneat previews for preview .

I hope this information in usefull.

I have this bug too but i don't use external storage.

I upload a new .jpeg picture with GPS location inside EXIF.
I wait a lot, still nothing on maps...
Nextcloud 18.0.2 last version of maps.

I experience the same bug with my setup:

Nextcloud 19.03 (latest Docker image from linuxserver.io, ARM64)
latest Maps App
external storage mounted as local storage (ext4)

Pictures on my internal storage are immidiately detected and show up on map after the next cron job cycle. This is not the case with the same pictures on my external storage. Manual scan with occ command does work though.
