Consider releasing the Linux version as an installable package similar to Windows winget install.

For now, include steps on how to manually install the package from the TAR archive.

macOS is not currently an officially supported release platform. You are welcome to build it yourself, however.

What do you mean with "installable package"? An installer script? This is very uncommon on Linux. Providing a tarball containing the executable is already more than you usually get on Github and this is only possible because this is a Rust application with no special dependencies on shared libraries.

Give it some time and the community will pick it up and package it for the various distributions. For Arch this already happened and you can install it simply with sudo pacman -S ms-edit

Ok, then you have a Debian package, not a Linux installer. Doesn't help if you use Fedora or any other non-debian based Linux distro. Maybe it could be published on Flathub. Like micro: https://flathub.org/apps/io.github.zyedidia.micro For those who don't want to unpack a tarball.

If a package maintainer would like to step in and help us produce native packages for each of the 13 distributions folks want, we would be glad to take them on as contributed content. We cannot currently promise CI or CD resources for all of those distribution vehicles.
