If in the future we could just have a single PR for cherry picking like we do in #1926 or #1885 to avoid overwhelming notifications and centralize discussion.

Hm, yeah, depends a bit; separate PRs makes it more visible what changes are included in a patch release (and can help pointing to specific changes)
