Steam overlay not working

Been using this for the past couple of months on two pc's. But either system the steam overlay is not working.

It launches properly, I keep the bat open my hours are counted correct, just the overlay not working. can't seem to figure out why, specially cause both systems have this problem.

The steam overlay is finicky only really working if it hooks into the game itself. Could try closing the console window just in time for the game to open and see if steam hands off the hook properly. If this doesn't work, then you might be out of luck.
