Description
It was the case for a long time that if you replace the screen on a 14″ MacBook Pro M1 or M2 without running Apple's part calibration tool, you'll get display artifacts which look like discolored rectangles near the top of the screen [1]. Recently Apple fixed this, and if you install MacOS 15.2 or newer (I have 15.5 on a MBP A2442) on a device with a third party replacement screen you won't get the artifacts any more [2]. However, the artifacts reappear when I boot into Asahi. The artifacts also appear in recovery mode, although I think they might go away if you update the recovery partition (I can test this if it would be helpful).
