A way to Build without installing?

I found a way that kinda sidesteps paru

$ paru -G swaylock-effects
$ cd swaylock-effects
$ makepkg -s

Paru just replaces the git clone at the end of the day.
And then I just $ pacman -U swaylock-effects-1.7-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst on my real machine.

Isn't there a native command to get a .pkg.tar.zst file? In this day and age of containers and immutable OS's, I got to the conclusion that I don't need all my build dependencies to be on my main ArchBTW cluttering everything.

I tried paru -B swaylock-effects but it outputs error: No such file or directory (os error 2). I asked ChatGPT and it said "create a ~/.cache/paru directory", but it's already there.

I'll use the -G parameter for now though.
